This type of map uses circles of different sizes to show a statistic. The circle sizes have no established pattern, though typically, the bigger the circle, the bigger the population it represents. This can be used for many things, including city population counts.The map I'm using as an example is a Russian map, and due to language barriers, I can not be sure of what it displays. I think it has something to do with ethnicity, though.
